An exciting opportunity to join the Personal Safety team, as part of the wider Training and OD team.The Personal Safety team deliversPrevention & Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA)training, Breakaway, PSTS (allcertified by the BILD ACT, Restraint ReductionNetwork)and Search training.We are looking for a candidateto join the teamwhohas the specialist skillsfor this unique position. As a qualified GSA tutor, you willsupport the delivery of this important traininglocally as well as externally.As a qualified nurse,you will alsoact as a Clinical Lead within the teamto support the implementation of reducingrestrictivepracticein clinical areasandleadingclinical projects withinthe team.


Withexpertisein the field ofPMVAand Restrictive Interventions,youwillassistthe Personal Safety and PMVA Lead inrepresentingthe Trust in promoting training and support strategies in the PMVA and use of restrictive interventions internally as well as externally.You will have the opportunityto develop knowledge,practiceand research in this specialist area.


The job is Monday to Friday.Working hours can be flexible between8-4pm or 9-5pm to support the delivery of training.There are opportunities to work from home on an ad-hoc basis.


They will be expected to provide knowledge andexpertisein clinical practice when supporting staff who provide care to peopleexhibitingaggressive and/or violent behaviour or subjected to restrictive interventions.


The post will encompass training and education, input into risk management, policy development, staff support and improvements in patient care and experience. In addition, the Personal Safety team works closely with the Resuscitation Team, and it is important that the post holder is supports delivery of the training within that team when applicable andrequired.





Main duties of the role:





•To ensure compliance with relevant core standards and targets within local teams


•To ensure cost effective delivery of personal safety training


•To deliver effective training that supports personal safety training plans


•To support clinical teams in reducing frequency, severity and impact of violence and the use of restrictive interventions


•To deputise in the absence of the Personal Safety and PMVA Lead

The “must haves” for this role:

1. Professional qualification in mental health/learning disability nursing or other registered clinician at Degree level

1. Minimumof 2 year’s clinical experience of inpatient mental health or learning disability settings (in line with RRN training standards)

1. GSA(General Services Association) Tutor Grade A

1. Experience deliveringpersonal safety training.

1. Teaching qualificationeg.PTLLS or willing to undertake thetraining.

1. First Aid at work trained or willing to undertake thetraining.
