Summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 podiatrist, to join our friendly and experienced community podiatry team. The successful candidate will be working in a variety of settings across Sutton Health and Care, and will manage a mixed caseload including routine and high risk patients, within clinics and on domiciliary visits. You will also undertake basic biomechanical assessments and treatments, and participate in the nail surgery rota.
The post holder will be part of a very supportive and collaborative team, which has strong working relationships with other services including the Threatened Limb Service, MSK, District Nursing, Tissue Viability, Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. You will also be supported and encouraged where possible, to continue learning and developing your career and clinical skills in your areas of interest.
To provide services at a wide variety of sites including a patient’s home, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and in challenging conditions, often working in isolation
To assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide effective podiatric treatments, using a problem solving approach based on clinical need and evidence based practice.
To commit to the philosophy of care with an emphasis on patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs.
To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload seeking guidance as appropriate.
Adhere to all of the relevant Trust Policies and Guidelines and Professional standards of care.
• To provide a highly effective, comprehensive foot health service for the population of Sutton Health and Care (SH&C).
• To work as an integral member of the podiatry team to assess need and deliver quality programmes of podiatric care to patients in a variety of settings across the SH&C sites.
• This requires a general knowledge of all aspects of podiatric practice to provide specialised, high quality responsive podiatric treatment to maintain patient’s mobility, independence and prevention of disability.
• To provide a highly effective lower limb service for the population of Sutton.
• To provide a highly effective, comprehensive foot health service for the population of Sutton Health and Care (SH&C).
• To work as an integral member of the podiatry team to assess need and deliver quality programmes of podiatric care to patients in a variety of settings across the SH&C sites.
• This requires a general knowledge of all aspects of podiatric practice to provide specialised, high quality responsive podiatric treatment to maintain patient’s mobility, independence and prevention of disability.
• To provide a highly effective lower limb service for the population of Sutton.
