Summary
Overview
A Warehouse Operative is responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities. The role includes ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of products within the warehouse and other storage facilities.
Responsibilities
Stores:
Day to day stores activities including goods receipt, booking in, storage, pick, pack and dispatch.
Freight and courier booking as per order details.
H&S and Housekeeping
Operate Forklift:
Safely operate a forklift to move goods and materials within the warehouse.
Load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas.
Ensure the correct and safe operation of the forklift.
Material Handling:
Transport materials to different locations within the facility.
Stack and organize materials in designated areas.
Assist in inventory management by ensuring accurate counts of products moved.
Safety and Maintenance:
Conduct daily equipment checks and perform routine maintenance.
Report any mechanical issues to the Manager.
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to prevent workplace accidents.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of goods moved and inventory levels.
Complete logs and reports as required.
Assist in the completion of shipping and receiving documents.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience:
Proven experience as a forklift operator.
Valid FLT license.
Warehouse, inventory handling and packing
Skills:
Strong understanding of forklift operations and safety practices.
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Basic math skills for inventory management.
Good physical condition and coordination.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy loads as per HSE guidelines,
Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, noisy).
Work Environment:
Warehouse setting.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
