Job Duties:1. Designing and developing mechanical components, systems, and assemblies for aerospace and aviation applications.
2. Conducting feasibility studies and analysing design concepts for functionality and efficiency.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications are met.
4. Creating detailed technical drawings using CAD software.
5. Performing stress analysis and simulations to validate designs.
6. Participating in design reviews and making recommendations for improvements.
Required Qualifications:- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace or aviation industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace or aviation industry.
Knowledge and Skills:- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Unigraphics (NX), SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and materials.
- Experience with stress analysis and simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licence.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
Working Conditions:- This is a contract position based in Christchurch, Dorset.
- Expected to work full-time hours.
- May require occasional travel for client meetings or project site visits.
- Work in an office and manufacturing environment, collaborating with various teams.
