Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) wishes to recruit a Substantive Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to 8.7PA post.

The post holder’s main area of focus will be to:

· Support the delivery of the faster diagnostic standard (FDS) optimising outpatient and diagnostic delivery for the rapid access service due to increased work flow through the service and the requirement to provide sector wide mutual aid support.

· Provide Consultant delivered emergency gynaecology care as part of 7/7 service.

· Participate in the Gynaecology on-call and provide Consultant delivered Emergency Gynaecology care both in and out of hours.

· To support rota management for both the consultants and junior doctors at St Mary’s and support the directorate digital lead.

The post holder will divide their time between clinical work (77%), which will include emergency gynaecology clinics, outpatient hysteroscopy, general gynaecology clinics, antenatal clinic, a caesarean section/delivery suite cover session and operating lists, with administration time allocated within these sessions. The remainder of the time will include rota management and support for the directorate digital lead.

Out of hours work will include Emergency Gynaecology Clinics at the weekends (1 in 7 weekends) and on-call for Gynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital, covering both obstetrics and gynaecology.

We seek a full time substantive Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with expertise in managing emergency gynaecology and early pregnancy complications (ATSM or equivalent experience), outpatient hysteroscopy (ATSM or equivalent) and experience in providing intrapartum care (ASTM in advanced labour ward practice or equivalent). The post is less than full time, with a 1:18 on call frequency for obstetrics and gynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital and contribution to the 7 day gynaecology emergency service at St Mary’s (1 in 7 weekends, 0900 – 1800 Saturday, 0900 – 1400 Sunday).

The role will include 77% clinical work (with administrative time allocated) which will include emergency gynaecology clinics, outpatient hysteroscopy, general gynaecology clinics, antenatal clinic, a caesarean section/delivery suite cover session and operating lists. The remainder of the time will include rota management and support for the directorate digital lead.
