Summary
To ensure the provision of essential reporting and analytical support to Directorate Managers and Clinical staff in relation to Service Planning, Performance Monitoring and other statutory / required NHS returns. Ensuring that information provided is timely, relevant, and accurate according to NHS Data Standards and Trust procedures.
No direct staff responsibilities. Post holder will be responsible for mentoring other information analysts in the performance of their assigned duties & management of their workload. No budget responsibilities.
Role will require a variety of skills such as Power Bi, SSRS and SQL. The role will analyse, develop and produce standard and ad-hoc reports for the Trust to agreed timescales. This role will support the core informatics team or the advanced analytics team with reporting statutory performance figures both internally and externally, validation of colleagues work and support to the information manager. This post would also be supporting the builds of the trust integration performance reports and committee level reporting.

The informatics team at EEAST supports a variety of roles that work together as a wider team to support each other. We have roles that include a Data Scientist, Forecast and Modelling manager, as well as information analyst and senior information analyst roles. The team is supported to create opportunities for analytics careers and enables individuals to explore and evolve within their roles.
1. Analysis and Data Reporting.
To analyse, develop and produce standard and ad-hoc reports for the Trust to agreed timescales. Information must be relevant, clear, timely and easy to understand, with all workings documented. Regular requests should be integrated into the standard reporting framework.
Provide cover for other members of the department in their absence, thus ensuring all department deadlines are met. Where deadlines are not achievable, a senior member of the department must be notified, to ensure appropriate prioritisation and notifications are made.
Gain an understanding of and become proficient in the use of computer systems such as SQL and MS Office applications. Gain an understanding of systems and databases at the department’s disposal and the constraints of each.
Produce and submit mandatory Commissioning Datasets to as per agreed timescales, or provide alternative downloaded csv files directly to Commissioners.
Check all reported data for any errors and ensure consistency with other corresponding information. Report and resolve any errors in consultation with the Head of Information & Development.
Contribute to the future development work within the Department.
2. Partnership Working, Planning and Organising
Time manage own workload in relation to providing an efficient and effective information service to internal and external customers.
Regularly review and maintain effective written working procedures in line with NHS data standards and agreed reporting time scales, ensuring that change in data requirements/information needs are implemented appropriately.
Develop effective working relationships with key information users to assist in establishing changing demands from internal and external to the organisation.
Establish good working relationships with information users in order to contribute to the turnaround time of information requests and projects.
3. Administration/Support/Security
Ensure that all information governance requirements for the security of sensitive data are maintained in any distributed reports.
Maintain and develop own knowledge of NHS data structures.
Be aware of and work within the policies and procedures adopted by EEAST.
Undertake any other duties not specified within this Job Description but within the general scope of the post as determined by the Head of Information and Analytics.
