Hours: 45 hrs, Monday - Friday, 9am - 7pm with a 1-hour break.

We are currently recruiting for Operatives in our Kent location.

Operative Waste Processing - The Role:

* Unloading/Loading of vehicles.
* Sorting and processing waste streams.
* 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday (9am - 7pm with a 1-hour break).
* Overtime available.
* Opportunities to train to higher skill levels.

Operative Waste Processing - key responsibilities:

* Responsibility for the Health and Safety of self and colleagues at all times.
* Ensure duties regarding Environmental Compliance and Waste Management Licensing Regulations are met at all times.
* Ensure that the start and shut down procedures of all machinery is followed as instructed.
* Complete start up and shutdown procedure maintaining levels of good housekeeping within work area.
* Process waste and operate machinery in accordance with the training and procedures.
* Ensure the correct PPE is worn by self and others at all times.
* Forklift Operation in accordance with training, processes and procedures.
* General Site maintenance.
* Complete all administrative paperwork required.
* Complete allotted instructions Near Miss reporting.

Knowledge, Training, Experience, Technical and Personal Skills:

* Experience of high standard of H&S.
* Counter balance FLT trained (however training can be provided).
* Proactive and safety focused approach.
* Positive and motivated.
* Problem solving and solution focussed ability.
* Good conflict resolution skills based on a 'Can do' attitude.
* Well organised and self-disciplined with the ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure.
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Ability to learn new systems and new machinery operations.
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships.
* Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions - should be transparent, open and honest in all dealings.
* A flexible attitude to the team's work, including a willingness to reprioritise and undertake additional tasks if required.
