Summary

Senior Consultant / Finance & Accounting IT Systems Project Manager who has good knowledge of accounting / finance and IT systems and procedures gained from working as a Head of Finance or Head of IT or as a Functional Consultant type of role, is required for a well-established specialist consultancy. The role requires strategic planning, leadership and business analysis skills, as well as an excellent understanding of technology management, business needs analysis and process improvement.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates should have a solid understanding of Finance / Accounting Systems and Processes, possibly gained from working as an Accountant or Senior Finance Manager / Director. In addition to this functional knowledge, candidates should have experience implementing new Accounting / Finance IT Systems, which may have been gained by working as the Project Manager or Functional Consultant on the implementation.

As a Senior Consultant / Finance & Accounting IT Systems Project Manager you will be primarily home-based although you will be expected to travel to meetings in London and visit client offices as required.

Working as a Senior Consultant / Finance & Accounting IT Systems Project Manager you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership to not-for-profit organisations. Your day-to-day tasks will involve collaborating with senior managers to develop and execute digital, data, and technology strategies that drive effective organisational change. You will also provide expert advice on trends in digital engagement, agile project delivery, information security, and infrastructure.

There will be a broad range of engagement types but for this role, and the company is particularly looking for individuals who have a background in finance / accounting solutions, software specification selection, business process improvements and general IT management.

As a Senior Consultant / Finance & Accounting IT Systems Project Manager you will lead consultancy engagements and work with team members to plan and deliver consultancy work to a high standard and within budget. The role will be interesting and varied and you will have the opportunity to help develop the consultancy by identifying and contributing to marketing initiatives and events as appropriate, plus proactively help to identify and secure new work, from both new and existing clients.


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As a Senior Consultant / Finance & Accounting IT Systems Project Manager you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

• Knowledge of accounting and financial procedures within organisations and project managing or supporting the implementation of new IT Accounting / Finance systems is essential

• Strong strategic planning and leadership skills

• Expertise in technology management, operations and delivery

• Good general knowledge of process improvement techniques and workshop facilitation

• Good commercial awareness and a sense of customer focus

• Understanding of information security and infrastructure

• Ideally experience in the not-for-profit sector, but not essential

• Experience in managing risks and providing clear guidance

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently and remotely

• A ‘can do’ attitude and an interest in problem-solving

• Degree in a relevant field (e.g. business, technology or social sciences)
