North Devon Salvation Army is a Christian Church seeking to live out the values of justice, mercy and faithfulness within our communities. We have physical centres in Barnstaple and Ilfracombe but our work extends to the other towns and villages within the wider area of North Devon.
As part of the Church Leadership Team, you will play a role in shaping and developing the whole church strategy, activity and programme, as well as delivering spiritual programmes to include working with children, families and youth; as well as homelessness and poverty alleviation work.
You will need to be a practising and committed Christian, with strong previous experience of working in a similar role involving developing and managing Church programmes, and helping people explore Christian faith. You will lead prayer, group worship and facilitate discipleship. Additionally, you will have a passion for transforming the lives of people experiencing poverty, showing compassion and providing practical support in a welcoming and non-judgemental way.
As well as responding to need, you will be working to fulfil the operational duties related to work, which includes administration, financial tasks, and working to relevant statutory and internal policies and procedures. You’ll also be managing volunteers and resources.
Clearly, your communication skills will need to be excellent, and you will need to demonstrate that you can successfully collaborate, influence and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, other faith organisations, schools, and statutory agencies.
