An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 HCA to join our friendly enthusiastic and committed team. The multidisciplinary team covers Knowsley providing Integrated Sexual Health and Contraception services under axess.

Position will be mainly based at Knowsley Sexual Health Service, however applicants must be able to travel to various locations and be flexible to work a range of early and evening shifts.

Candidates will be considered for a band 3 position if they hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent, a national care certificate or willingness to undertake this. It is essential to have have extensive IT skills, be a quick learner and have an ability to adapt to a fast paced environment. Good communication skills and venepuncture are essential criteria for this role. Previous experience of working within a sexual health / contraception service is desirable but is not essential.

We offer a structured induction plan and on-going support within our team of HCA 's, assistant practitioner, band 6 and 7 specialist nurses, specialist doctors and consultants. We are committed to develop the successful applicants development providing support with on-going training.

The successful applicant will be required to deliver patient care demonstrating professionalism, working within competencies and have excellent communication skills in all aspects of their work.
Flexibility to cover various shifts and locations is essential for the role.

The role is varied and includes venepuncture, assisting with procedures, obtaining base line observations, computer skills, ordering of stock, stock replenishment, conducting STI screening for asymptomatic patients referring onward when required and administrative duties .
