Summary


Overview of Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity for a registered dietitian or a pre-registered dietitian has arisen to work in the Oldham community dietetics team. The team primarily provides assessment and interventions for adults who needs nutritional support and home enteral feeding. The service is generally delivered in the patient's own home but some patients are also seen in a clinic environment and also in care home settings.

We are a team of therapists who work together with patients and their family/support networks to optimise nutritional support and monitor and implement home enteral feeding.

You will undertake the nutrition assessment of patients referred to the dietetic service using analytical skills and evidence based practice to calculate nutritional requirements and formulate an individual treatment plan, under the guidance of the specialist/highly specialist dietitian where required.

We are supported by a Team Lead/clinical lead dietitians. We are innovative and pride ourselves on offering evidence based, quality care to patients in Oldham community.

Main duties of the job
• To provide assessment and intervention for patients who has been referred to the dietetics service using skill, knowledge, and professional expertise.
• To work as an autonomous practitioner in the community, being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work, managing your own complex caseload and maintaining patient records.
• Excellent communication skills will be required to liaise effectively with treating clinicians, the patient, their family members, and community services and support networks throughout the patient pathway.
• The role involves clinical, leadership and educational opportunities to develop outstanding evidence-based practice in the community dietetics service.
