- site at Sizewell C 2 days per week. Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full
- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part
- time approach where possible.Salary: Competitive dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Lawyer to join our SZC Legal Team, supporting the construction and engineering efforts of the Sizewell C Project. This is your chance to be at the forefront of a transformative project that will generate low-carbon electricity for over six million homes and significantly reduce carbon emissions.
Your Role
As a Senior Lawyer, you will be the legal linchpin in delivering Sizewell C’s ambitious construction and supply chain arrangements. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors, you will ensure the project’s legal aspects are managed with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Funding: Manage and develop complex governance and funding arrangements involving shareholders, investors, regulators, and the UK Government.
Intellectual Property: Oversee and advise on intricate IPR issues across various technologies.
Construction Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts essential for constructing the Sizewell C power station, including handling disputes.
Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support planning and development mandates.
Best Practices: Promote best practices in regulatory compliance, including GDPR, health & safety, and nuclear licensing.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for a senior lawyer with a track record of success in complex construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be critical in steering Sizewell C to completion.

Qualifications & Experience
Legal Admission: Admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales or an equivalent common law jurisdiction.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in construction supply chain contracts (NEC and FIDIC preferred) and senior-level legal advice.
Sector Knowledge: Experience in infrastructure projects, preferably in the nuclear sector, with a solid understanding of corporate risk areas.
Skills & Attributes
Commercial Acumen: Identify and mitigate risks while presenting balanced solutions to stakeholders.
Strategic Mindset: Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating complex legal concepts to various audiences.
Negotiation: Proven negotiation skills with multiple stakeholders.
Analytical Ability: Quickly analyze and interpret information to provide actionable insights.
Leadership: Capable of managing competing priorities and building credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
Flexibility: Willingness to expand knowledge across different legal areas and support various teams.
