Your new company

I am working with a £multi-million-pound and rapidly growing furniture company based in Lancashire. Their commitment to delivering exceptional products and customer experience has established them as a key player in the furniture industry. They are now seeking an experienced Buyer to join their dynamic team and contribute to their continued success.

Your new role
As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in formalising the company's purchasing procedures and developing customer-focused product ranges. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure that all suppliers meet high-quality standards. This role involves occasional travel to meet key stakeholders and suppliers, including trips to Germany and China. Additionally, you will lead and motivate a Buying Assistant, analyse competitor pricing, and stay ahead of market trends to identify potential best-selling products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Formalise and streamline company purchasing procedures.
- Plan, develop, and implement customer-focused product ranges.
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers.
- Conduct occasional travel to meet with stakeholders and suppliers in Germany, China, and other locations.
- Lead and motivate a Buying Assistant within the team.
- Monitor competitor pricing and make adjustments to improve sales and profitability.
- Stay informed on market trends and proactively seek out new and upcoming products.
- Follow up with suppliers after trade shows to explore new opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed
- Prior experience in a similar role, ideally in furniture or homeware buying.- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and ensure high-quality standards.
- Experience in developing and implementing product ranges.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
- Proven ability to analyse market trends and competitor pricing.
- Leadership skills to manage and motivate a Buying Assistant.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
