We are currently recruiting for a Chef Manager to join our team at Driffield Camp CTC, YO25 9HD
Driffield Camp operates majority of the time at weekends supporting the Army Cadet Force (ACF). This community-based program offers a wide range of fun and exciting activities. Here are some highlights that the cadets participate in:⦁ Fieldcraft: Learn outdoor survival skills, navigation, and teamwork.⦁ Adventure Training: Participate in thrilling outdoor adventures like rock climbing, kayaking, and hiking.⦁ Music: Explore your musical talents through playing instruments or singing.⦁ Sports: Engage in various sports and physical fitness activities.⦁ Shooting: Learn firearm safety and marksmanship.⦁ Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme: Work towards achieving this prestigious award.
We provide the catering service whilst the cadets are at site – serving breakfast, lunch and evening meal to them.As well as the weekends, we do get some adult military groups who also use the facility for their training and again we offer breakfast/lunch & evening meal.

- 40 hours per week – 5 days over 7 including the weekends
- Shifts range between 6am – 7pm

What you'll be doing
- Overall responsibility of site for food preparation and Health & Safety.
- Feeding max 150 people per service
- Lead on food production, ordering, service, stock takes.
- Ownership of financial performance of the unit
- Oversee the GSAs and any agency staff required.
- Ensure all company/legal H&S policies are adhered to
- Support General Manager with finances for the site for monthly reporting.
- Ensure company menu cycles & recipes are followed.
- You will be managing a team of Chefs on site. You will be responsible for all Chefs/Back of house team members.
- Placing orders and managing stock and wastage
- Preparing menus for functions and other special events
- Using Aramark systems (OPX, Aratrade, Myworklife etc)
- Overseeing production throughout
- Processing payroll, creating rotas and covering holidays.
- Completing your daily checks and paperwork efficiently
- You will be following a menu cycle and preparing dishes to spec
- Ensure food is correctly stored according to food safety policies and guidelines
- Managing costs and end of month IT reports
- Ensure all staff training is up to date and daily duties are delegated.
Experience
- NVQ level 3 Culinary or equivalent
- DBS checks required to complete your application
- Previous experience managing a kitchen and large team.
- Must be confident using the PC and accessing a variety of systems
- Be a confident chef and leader – able to coach and mentor GSA’s
- Experience in our systems is desirable however training will be given to the successful candidate
