Summary
Transport Advisers Unit - SGLD Lawyer
The Scottish Government is seeking a highly skilled lawyer to join their Transport Adviser Unit in the Scottish Government Legal Directorate. As a Transport Adviser Unit - SGLD Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on a range of Transport Scotland operations and activities. Working on a Hybrid basis of 1 day a week in the Glasgow based office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice
- Advise on major road infrastructure projects.
- Road maintenance and management queries, compulsory purchase and land assembly projects, and road traffic regulation
- Provide support to the Transport Adviser Unit team
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer in Scotland.
- Experience in property/title queries and land assembly
- Experience in advising an in-house body, ideally public sector or In house
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong legal analysis skills
Working Arrangements
This is a 6-month contract position possible extension for 6 month further, with a hybrid working arrangement of 1 day per week working from George House, George Square, Glasgow. The successful candidate will be working in a branch of 4 other C1 lawyers and your C2 Manager who will all be there to support one another and work collaboratively together and also working with the second Branch in this unit.
