Eastbourne, East Sussex
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday between 8am – 5.30pm

We have a fantastic opportunity for a French speaking Customer Service Assistant to join our Wallpaperdirect Customer Service Team based in Eastbourne. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive customer support service to our French customers and being a first point of contact.
We have successfully been growing our Wallpaperdirect business across Europe, particularly within France and soon launching in Spain where leading British brands, such as Sanderson, are very popular. Our website has been translated and we have introduced language services to provide advice and support for our French customers. This role is vital in supporting customer enquiries for our French website and online businesses, and you will play a key part in assisting these customers with orders, product selection, design project enquiries etc. To be considered for this role, you must be able to communicate fluently both verbally and in writing in French and English.
Our office is based on Birch Road in Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne – from here we have been selling wallcoverings online for over 16 years and with access to over 11,000 different wallcoverings and a stock of over 4,000 we can offer our customers an extremely varied choice. Our Customer Service department aims to not only meet but exceed our customer’s expectations, working to departmental guidelines.A family run business for over 120 years; we have a long history in our industry and have grown to over 200 branches nationwide. Some of the responsibilities of our Customer Service Assistants include:
Ensuring that all French customer enquiries and questions received via email are logged and responded to promptly and efficiently
Engaging with our French speaking customers on the phone and ensuring all phone calls are handled efficiently
Acting as an initial point of contact for complaints from our French customers, recording these complaints and endeavouring to resolve or escalate as appropriate
Supporting with any delivery issues, including border or export queries
Supporting with our French website content ensuring language is correct
Sharing insight and feedback on our French customer market to enhance the customer experience
Establishing good relationships with customers and the operational departments within the business
Who we are looking for to join our team:
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Fluent in French and English – must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in both languages. Fluency in Spanish would also be beneficial
Approachable, possessing an open and friendly personality
Enjoys working and supporting a team, but can be relied upon to always work as an individual
Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Can work quickly, and accurately with a positive approach
Able to demonstrate confident computer skills with MS Word, Excel etc
Keen to learn, develop skills, and progress within our industry
