Are you an experienced or recently graduated social worker and wish to become more specialised in a dedicated field of practice?
The Children with Disability Team could help you achieve this.
Successful candidates will be supported to further develop their knowledge of social work practice with vulnerable children, including the principles of care and support, child protection and court work; developing an enhanced knowledge of a range of different disabilities, they will gain an understanding of the benefits and challenges of multi-agency working; provided opportunity to develop their existing skills and knowledge.
The Children with disability teams work with children from the age of 0-18 years with a permanent and substantial disability, this opportunity enables the successful candidate to develop their expertise and knowledge within the field of disability with a wide age range of individuals, focusing upon working with children, their families and carers.

Caerphilly has adopted an agile approach to working all necessary equipment to enable this is provided. Office cover is arranged on a rota basis through the working week. Caerphilly is also pro-active in staff development and supports the CPEL framework of career development for registered social workers.
For the role, we ask that you have:
1. A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and Successful completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1st April 2016)
2. Knowledge of the social care legislative framework e.g. Social Services and Wellbeing Act, Children’s Act, Mental Capacity Act, etc
3. Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings, visit clients
