We have an exciting opportunity for a number of Essential Skills Numeracy tutors to join the Caerphilly Adult Community Learning team to plan, prepare and deliver numeracy classes to adult learners across the Caerphilly borough.

Multiply is a UK Government funded programme designed to help transform the lives of adults across the UK by improving their functional numeracy skills. Courses span across several interventions from first steps to level 2 numeracy qualifications.

We are looking for tutors who can teach pure numeracy/maths but also tutors that can embed numeracy into other subject areas such as sewing, woodwork, general DIY and other hobby / interest activities.

For the role, we ask that you have:

1. A Teaching qualification (preferably PGCE/Cert Ed/B Ed). Essential skills teaching qualification (minimum Level 3) or willing to work towards.
2. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
3. Experience in delivering learning programmes to adults, as appropriate.
4. A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business/work purposes to travel throughout the borough to provide classes

We have excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, agile working patterns and staff discount schemes.
