Summary
The Governors of St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic and creative apprentice who will support their strong Catholic ethos and our continual drive to improve standards.
Key responsibilities:
•Working with groups of children aged 3-4 years.
•Supporting the children in their learning and development.
•Preparing snacks
•Setting up Continuous Provision.
•Communicating with parents and staff
•Ensuring classroom environment is clean and tidy.
•Helping to set up classroom for the following day
•Must be able to contribute to the programme of activities for the children
•Must be able to work with others in the cleaning of equipment and toys
•Must have regard for Health & Safety Standards, Equal Opportunities and all other school Childcare policies
Training
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. St Aidan's will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:
· Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
· Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
· Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered through St Aidan's dedicated training provider, Realise.
Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.
Qualifications required
•Minimum Grade 3/D - GCSE Maths and English Language or equivalent - preferred
•Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to undertake the qualification)

Excellent communication skills (colleagues, parents & children)
Organised
Punctual
Reliable
Demonstrates using own initiative
Prospects
Further progression for the right candidate
Qualification / Standard : ST0454 Teaching assistant
Duration 15 months
