We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our thriving bioinformatics public engagement programme, 4273pi (https://4273pi.org), as Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioinformatics Education. The post involves designing, planning, delivering and researching public engagement with secondary schools across Scotland.
This post is advertised as part-time (17.5 hours per week), however, we are open to considering other working patterns.
The Opportunity:
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the 4273pi bioinformatics education project, and will, under the general direction of the academic PI, lead project planning and implementation.
Your skills and attributes for success:
You will be organized and flexible, with experience in event management, public engagement and research.
You will have training in molecular biology or a similar discipline, as a degree or component of a degree (or equivalent experience).
You will have a PhD (or to be completed within 3 months) or equivalent experience in science, education or public engagement.
You will have an interest in diversity, equality and inclusion.
You will be willing to drive a variety of hired vehicles (cars, people-carriers and small vans); or, you will have support of a driver (e.g. through Access to Work) who could do this driving.
