As Housing Business Support Team Leader, you will manage the Business Support Team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service ensuring delivery is responsive to internal and external customer needs.

Develop effective multi disciplinary teams for missions focused work, ensuring you have the right people from across the organisation to deliver the required outcomes.
Lead and manage the team to ensure they are efficient and effective in the delivery of services and strive for continual improvement.
Supervise, train and develop staff including the allocation of work, ensuring deadlines are met, checking quality of work and dealing with queries.
Hold staff to account for their performance, celebrating success and dealing with poor performance. Undertake regular 1:1’s and manage performance and sickness absence in accordance with Council’s policies.
Liaise with housing managers on an ongoing basis to ensure housing teams are provided with the flexible business support they need to carry out their functions. This may include, for example, preparing paperwork and packs, undertaking printing, organising mail outs, logging repairs, dealing with customer enquiries or covering phones.
Coordinate the formal complaints process, Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests and Councillor enquiries for the wider Housing services.
Liaise with senior staff across the council or outside bodies and members of the public who require more support. This may include, for example, advising on procedures or supporting those requiring higher interpersonal or communication skills.

Qualifications:

Business Administration NVQ.
GCSE at Grade C or above in English or equivalent.



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector.
Experience of working for a customer focused service, managing
local authority or Housing multiple tasks to strict deadlines Association.
Experience of providing administrative.
Experience of organising support to teams in order for them to events and meetings for carry out their duties internal and external stakeholders.
Experience of using databases and spreadsheets for record keeping.
Experience of managing staff.
Experience of developing and maintaining filing systems.
Strong ICT skills across all Microsoft products particularly Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
