Summary
This exciting and innovative role will support the continuing development of a service to support the wellbeing of all citizens in the community over the age of 18. It is open to those who use or have used MH services as well as people who have never used services but feel they would benefit from social contact and support. People will gain connections to others and to assets within their community if this is relevant to them.
The key areas of work are to facilitate the development of a social network for members to support their wellbeing by meeting others and making connections and friendships and will also provide one to one wellbeing mapping sessions.
You will be welcomed into an enthusiastic and creative team covering the whole of Berkshire, having a key role in furthering the development of the infrastructure of the LCWN in the west of the county and will liaise closely with the lead in the east. You will report to the LCWN service manager. This will involve having a major role in recruiting and developing a team that can perform to achieve the aims of the LCWN in line with the provision already operating across the county. The post holder will supervise and support band 5s in the team and will have direct reports. You will also be highly competent in Word and Excel and be able to work with BHFT systems and the LCWN systems confidently.You will have good understanding of the important place this work takes as a response to the CMH Framework and the NHS Long Term Plan.
• To establish links and integrate with a broad range of BHFT teams and organisations across West Berkshire and beyond to ensure the successful growth, implementation, and development of the LCWN
• To work confidently in different settings and at all levels, both NHS and community, to represent the LCWN.
• To develop a comprehensive understanding of community assets in order to combat social isolation and loneliness.
• To coproduce with the local community and BHFT to create a Let’s Connect Wellbeing Network that is proactive and empowering for stakeholders.
• To promote an integrated model of working; supporting the development of integration at every opportunity so that local services and organisations put local people at the heart of their own recovery and movement and transitions between services become seamless.
• To recruit, train and supervise and lead a team of workers.
• To establish links with a broad range of BHFT teams and organisations across West Berkshire and beyond to ensure the successful growth, implementation, development of the LCWN.
• To coproduce with the local community to create a Let’s Connect Wellbeing Network that is proactive and empowering for stakeholders.
• To promote an integrated model of working.
• To recruit, train, supervise Senior Community Navigators
• To work collaboratively with BHFT teams, external organisations and GPs

The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
• Experience and skills in role that would enable you to carry out the required duties to the level required in order to contribute significantly to the development of the LCWN in West Berkshire
• Education to degree level or above in a related field or to be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
• To be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of mental health and wellbeing through direct experience, as a carer, or through a high level of work experience. Direct experience is highly valued.
• To respond to and fulfil operational plans as required, manage delivery and ensure performance targets are met.
• To contribute to service reviews and support other forms of monitoring and evaluation.
• To be IT competent to a high level to fulfil the above
• To identify areas for quality improvement within LCWN participation and lead on work to make improvements required.
• To identify and escalate any issues within the project as appropriate.
• To be able to foster and build relationships with the local community, practitioners and partner agencies to ensure effective co-production of the LCWN in order to include all citizens and those with Long Term mental Health Needs (LTmHN) are engaged in coproduction to ensure that local people shape the development and delivery of the LCWN through partnership working.
• To ensure that national and local good practice is identified and is adopted both consistently and continuously.
• To represent, as required and appropriate, LCWN is represented at external organisations/meetings in order to present the LCWN work.
• To lead and take responsibility for making day to day decisions in relation to the LCWN (West) reporting upwards to the service manager and participating within the team.
• To be able to drive and have use of a car for work purposes in order to travel across Berkshire, particularly, but not exclusively, West Berkshire as required
• To be IT competent at a high level in order to do the role e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point
