Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Learning Disability Nurse to join a highly experienced health care teams working in the Learning Disabilities Directorate within the Specialist Services Division of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

There are two full time B5 posts available: one post is based within the Oldham Learning Disability Team and one post is based within the Tameside Learning Disability Team. We will accept applications from students in the final year of Learning Disability Nurse training.

Service/Ward/Department Summary: The post-holder will be based within either the the Learning Disability Team in Oldham or the Learning Disability Team in Tameside. Both teams provide specialist support and interventions to children and young people up to the age of 18. We deliver high quality health assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex needs.



Main duties of the job Role Summary: Delivery of evidence based health and behavioural assessments and interventions to children and young people with learning disabilities who have complex and challenging needs. You will be working within a supportive team with the expectation to be person centred, creative and innovative in meeting the health needs of individuals whilst offering support to families and carers. There will be the opportunity to work across a range of settings and with a range of other services. The Care Hub has a supervision framework in place and there are regular opportunities for continuing professional development and clinical supervision with other Community Nurses working in the Pennine Care Learning Disability Care Hub. We are eager to support continual professional development and access to additional training opportunities. All newly qualified nurses will be enrolled on a Preceptorship Programme.
