Summary

An alternative provision in Liverpool is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team. The school provides a nurturing environment for secondary students who require additional support to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support students who have previously faced challenges in mainstream schools.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students achieve their full potential.
- Manage and respond to day-to-day behavioural issues with empathy and professionalism.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure consistent and effective support for students.

Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience working with secondary students, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
- Strong understanding of the barriers to learning faced by students in alternative provision settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.
- Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges.

The ideal teaching assistant would be somebody who can work well in a team and also use their own initiative to be able to support the students in the best way they can. They will be empathetic towards the challenges the children may face and find ways to adapt to the different teaching styles that work for the students who may have previously had barriers up whilst learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
