We’re looking for individuals with catering experience with a can-do attitude and a desire to help someone live a full life!

This inspiring and interesting role combines the opportunity to utilise and develop your catering experience with empowering people with a learning disability to reach their goal of achieving paid employment.

The Hatch and the Barn Cafe at Grimsbury Farm (in Kingswood, Bristol) offers employment training to people with learning disabilities who want a career in catering or hospitality

The support you provide will be centred around each person’s values, preferences and needs, working a range of hours across 7 days.

We have two part time positions available, 18 and 24 hour contract per week.

Full training to gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate.

What we're looking for:

Previous catering experience.

Passion for hospitality.

Great customer care skills.

Great food service skills.

Experience in food preparation.

Experience in baking.

Experience in food hygiene practices.

Your responsibilities:

Have good communication skills.

Have a positive and patient approach.

Be resilient and respect people’s differences.

Able to build relationships based on trust, respect and consideration.

A catering qualification or catering experience in a commercial / business setting.

Experience of working in or running a small business is desirable.

Understanding and knowledge of employment support and employment training for people with learning disabilities will be an advantage.

We provide high-quality, individualised support to around 1,600 people and have a staff team of over 2,000. Operating across southern England and London, support is provided by a widely dispersed workforce, including public spaces and the homes of the people we support.
