OnSaturday 27th July 2024we are holding a Healthcare Assistant Recruitment Day. Time slots will be allocated, we will not be accepting walk ins on the day.

The event will take place in the Clinical Education Centre, Southport Hospital, Town Lane, Kew, Southport, PR8 6PN.

The posts recruited to at this event will be for vacancies at the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital sites.

We are looking to recruit motivated, caring, and compassionate individuals for the role of Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to assist qualified nursing staff with patient care.



Under the direction of the Registered Nurse the Health Care Assistant will
work with all members of the multi disciplinary team to contribute to the
provision of the highest standards of care delivery in undertaking personal
care duties for patients in hospital/community.

You will contribute to the assessment and care plans that have been developed, to work within standard operating procedures as defined within each area. You work closely under direction of the senior nurse who will be available for reference and will be able to respond to individual need in delivering patient care.

The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.

From 1stJuly we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The Trust delivers acute hospital care, intermediate care, community, and primary care services to a population of over 600,000 people with a combined workforce of around 9000 dedicated and skilled staff from 17 locations including Whiston, Southport & Formby, St Helens, Ormskirk and Newton hospitals.
