Summary

To have the relevant qualification and experience to carry out care assessments and Risk Management for service users referred for Home Care.
To review all service assessments for short-term care during the initial 6/8-week period and also the service assessments for long-term care and specialist needs.
To plan and facilitate care staff supervision and appraisal sessions.
To supervise and manage Planners, for care and support staff, and identify training and development needs.
To organise work rotas for Care staff where required.
To attend and arrange time and dates for care reviews.
To manage staff annual leave entitlement to ensure adequate staff are on duty at any one time.
To ensure that Care quality commission regulations and performance measures are adhered to.
To arrange staff to attend service users’ appointments if they require support and to ensure appropriate commissioned hours are available.
To assist Heron Care Training Managers and administrators with Recruitment and Selection in line with Heron Care’s safer recruitment policy and procedure.
To investigate complaints and safeguarding from Service Users and their representatives, purchasers and other stakeholders and to report all issues of a serious nature to the registered Manager.
To monitor employee sickness and absence and liaise with operations manager.
To attend services when required.
To contact service user’s next of kin if the service user has apparently been admitted to hospital to confirm admission if NO NOK contact the hospital or lifeline or emergency duty team for the relevant council for conformation.
To organise and participate in regular Team Meetings and locality Meetings for support staff.
To assist operations manager to investigate and prepare reports in regard to any safeguarding alerts and complete CQC notification where required.
To work on a rota system so to ensure continuity of care is maintained 7 days a week.
To participate as the Manager on Duty during all Out of Hours shifts, allocating work to Care/support staff (ON CALL).
