Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the maternity team at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as our PMRT (Perinatal Mortality Review Tool) Midwife.



MBRRACE PMRT is a national tool designed to help understand why stillbirths and neonatal deaths occur, to try to prevent future deaths from occurring. This is a new role and as our PMRT Midwife, you will hold responsibility for ensuring that the MBRRACE Perinatal Mortality Review Tool is fully implemented within the Hillingdon Hospital maternity services in line with standards set by MBRRACE, NHS Resolution Maternity Incentive Scheme for Trusts, and the National Bereavement Care Pathway. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Lead Midwife for Quality, Governance, Assurance and Compliance and the wider multidisciplinary team to support and facilitate the PMRT process.

The post holder will ensure effective communications about the outcomes of the PMRT reviews to all maternity staff to support the spread of good practice, learning identified from PMRT reviews is embedded into practice, whilst supporting a positive safety culture.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.



The post holder will inspire confidence and innovation amongst our incredible workforce, who together, ensure the women/birthing people and staff are safe, cared for and listened too. They will work collaboratively with the maternity teams, maternity managers, governance and education teams to provide seamless pathways of care and ensure a positive safety and team culture.



The post holder will take a lead role in supporting maternity services at Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with the departments Perinatal Mortality reviews.



The post holder will be required to support the PMRT process through the inputting of data using the standardised review tool and collate and present comprehensive timelines of events using a variety of sources. They will also support and co-ordinate the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) process by liaising with women/birthing people who have experienced pregnancy loss.





The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
