We are seeking a friendly and hardworking individual to join our team as a Stores Person at Wellington College. You will play a vital role in ensuring the operation runs smoothly.

What you do:

  • Comply with statutory and company requirements.
  • To follow directions of the line manager in the correct store procedures and safeguard audits
  • To accept, check, rotate ad store all kitchen deliveries as per the mandatory regulations.
  • To clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials as required
  • To complete all due diligence sheets as requested including food temperatures, wastage, delivery checks and cleaning schedules as per defined procedures.
  • To ensure that all internal stock transfers are recorded and traded correctly.
  • To assist with issuing provisions daily in accordance with the menu
  • To execute the receiving and dispatching of stock to and from other parts of the unit
  • To ensure that all inward stock is stored following the ‘first in first out’ rule.
  • To ensure the proper storage, disposable of all waste products in accordance with mandatory regulations
  • To assist the Senior Sous Chefs with ordering provisions through nominated suppliers in conjunction with Executive Head Chef
  • To seek assistance during busy periods to ensure that all stock is stored correctly in a timely manner.
  • To check delivery notes/ invoices against supplier order sheets
  • To raise delivery notes and return stock when products do not meet units’ quality specifications.
  • To always maintain effective stock control ensuring minimum and maximum stock thresholds are always maintained.
  • To be responsible for stock regarding best before/use by dates and report when dates are running low.
  • To ensure that weekly stock checks are carried out in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that all storage areas are always secure.
  • To operate an industrial dish washer as required
  • To exercise due care and attention to ensure minimal breakages of equipment.
  • To transport provisions, equipment, and other catering related items as required
  • To always maintain a clean working environment with special regard to hygiene
  • To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but still within the scope of the position and the departments activities
  • To ensure that all tableware, serving dishes, equipment and cooking utensils are cleaned in a timely manner as required.
  • Assist with the hygienic cleaning of kitchen to comply with all Health and Safety regulations.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrate experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a company
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards.
  • Ability to achieve performance criteria about hygiene.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to health and safety practices
  • The ability to follow instruction and work on your own initiative.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
