Key responsibilities:

Supporting learners to achieve their goals, ensuring they are fully supported to succeed in their studies, helping them develop wider academic and other essential skills that will enable suitable progression.
Effectively address learner issues and concerns, including those related to attendance, punctuality, motivation and attitude to learning, to promote a positive and caring culture.
Deliver all aspects of our A level tutorial programme to full tutor groups including our newly established GOWER mindset programme as well as mandatory aspects of our tutorial programme (e.g. safeguarding). As well as delivery of group tutorial sessions, you will conduct regular one-to-one sessions with a cohort of learners, focussing on their targets, goals and the support they need to achieve these.
Proactively work with learners to improve attendance, retention and attainment and address general behaviour issues, focussing on those ‘at risk’, ensuring timely referral/communication with lecturers, Learning Area Managers, and other support teams.


About you:


Hold or be working towards a degree or level 4 qualification and have 5 GCSEs grade C or equivalent. You must also be prepared to work towards a peer mentoring qualification.
Excellent organisation and problem solving skills, the ability to work flexibly under pressure, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Experience of teaching and/or working with young people will be required, as well as experience of arranging activities and presenting.
IT literacy and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively both internally and externally with stakeholders (in person and virtually).
Flexibility is essential to work across different College sites (and on weekends and evenings when necessary)
