We focus on providing students with real-world learning experiences inside state-of-the-art facilities which reflect the kinds of environments they can expect to encounter in their professional careers.
At UCLan we help to raise aspirations and empower people to flourish in education, at work and for life by offering opportunities to people from all backgrounds and supporting our local communities and delivering research that has real-world impact. We are a real community, on an international scale and every colleague has a vital role to play in achieving our vision.
We are focused on creating a welcoming and engaging environment where everyone is supported and empowered to deliver their best work and achieve their potential.
About the role
Pharmacy is changing, with the role of the pharmacist expanding to provide more vital health services and person-centred care. This role will be key to ensure that pharmacists can rise to the challenge and will support the development of these key skills.
The role will play a key part in the academic development, course management, teaching and the continuing, and future success, of our MPharm and Advanced Certificate in independent prescribing courses and the wider role of the School in the Northwest region.
About you
Whilst experience in an educational institution is desirable, we welcome applications from individuals currently in clinical practice who are keen to use their prescribing skills to educate the next generation of pharmacists. While the role is advertised as full time, you may be inspired to teach in HE part time whilst maintaining currency in your clinical practice. If so, we will develop you as you step into a teaching career.
You will:
*Possess primary and/or secondary healthcare experience, preferably with experience of prescribing in a healthcare environment
*Possess a good honours degree in a relevant area e.g. pharmacy, nursing, areas allied to health
*Possess a non-medical prescribing qualification.
*Hold registration with a relevant professional body
