The Employability and Skills Team is a dynamic and learner focussed department, working together to maximise learner routes into employment. If you are passionate about making a difference to learners lives then this could be the place for you.

Co-ordinating each Rail learner’s journey, the ideal candidate will focus on embracing the college ethos that every learner will achieve their full potential and positively represent the college both internally and externally at all times. The successful candidate will be primarily based at our Accrington & Rossendale College and Lancashire Adult Learning sites but will be required to regularly travel to other Lancashire locations.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Co-ordinate the learner journey through L2 Rail Programmes, from engagement to onboarding and completion into positive destinations.
  • Work with external agencies, community representatives and partners to deliver accurate IAG sessions to promote the L2 Rail Provision across Lancashire.
  • Co-ordinate, develop and manage partner and employer relationships, creating business growth opportunities for L2 Rail Provision.
  • Manage enquiries and referrals to maximise learner attendance of IAG sessions and ensure ‘right learner right course’ for every learner.
  • Liaise effectively with internal partners such as Safeguarding, MIS, Enrolment, finance and bursary teams to maximise each learner’s progression on the programme and into employment.
  • Work collaboratively with partner organisations to report on positive destinations and progression into employment.
  • Represent Lancashire Adult Learning at external events and meetings.

What We Are Looking For:

  • GCSE grade C, or equivalent qualification, in English and Maths

  • IAG Qualification at Level 2 or above, or willingness to work towards.
  • Experience of successfully promoting adult learning and growing adult learning or business provision in a wide range of settings
  • Experience of using IT systems to maintain accurate data, data analysis and date reporting.
  • Experience of successfully working in partnership with external agencies
  • Experience of vocational or technical learning provision e.g. Rail, Construction or equivalent is desirable, but not essential full support and training will be provided.

What We Offer in Return:
• Generous annual leave entitlement increasing to a maximum of 28 days (with service), plus Bank Holidays and closure days – totalling 41 days per year
• Access to a workplace pension scheme – with employer contributions of 5%
• Enhanced occupational sick pay scheme and access to family friendly policies and benefits
• A range of health and wellbeing benefits and support
