What will you be doing?

  • Reporting to the Lead Maintenance Engineer you will manage your workflow of run and non - run PPM's allocated to you, working on process issues during the week as they arise.
  • Organise and plan PPM scheduled work and non scheduled work
  • Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus including conveyors, rotary driers, baling equipment, low voltage equipment, pumps, motors, gearbox, mechanical drives, centrifuges, material handling equipment, blowers & ducting, extruders, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics and optical sorting equipment.
  • Between the team, ensure the management of contractors on site in terms of site induction completion and making sure that work instructions are followed. Ensure they work safely and in line with VES safe working practices, reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements where applicable and raising work permits.
  • Inspect work areas and equipment for deficiencies, hazards, and malfunctions and report all discrepancies and unsafe acts or working conditions to the Maintenance Manager, working together to investigate and resolve them quickly. This also includes the identification and ordering of spare parts for repairs and modifications



What are we looking for?

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience gained within a Maintenance & Electrical Engineering role
  • Previous experience within the recycling industry is advantageous
