Summary

My client is currently engaged in a major utilities and water framework, and looking for a talented Freelance Design Coordinator to join the team.

Role Overview:

As a Freelance Design Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of design aspects within their major utilities and water projects. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including design teams, project managers, and clients, to ensure that designs meet technical, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless integration of design solutions, enhancing project efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage design activities for utilities and water projects within the framework.
  • Liaise with design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Review and assess design documentation for compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Facilitate design meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions with project stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between design and construction teams.
  • Monitor design progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support the implementation of innovative design solutions to optimize project outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, approvals, and project documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the design process.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Design Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a design coordination role within the construction, utilities, or water sectors.
  • Strong understanding of design processes, methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
