Summary

Job Title: Technical Services Maintenance Assistant

Location: EH16 4SA, Edinburgh

Salary: £17.10 per Hour

Uniform Provided: Yes

Working Hours: 8:00 - 16:00

Candidate Must Have a Basic DBS

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in building service systems, technical services provision, and general maintenance is beneficial, but training will be provided.
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will possess a City & Guilds Certificate in the Inspection and Testing of Portable Electrical Appliances.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage sub-contractors and liaise with suppliers
  • Awareness of Health & Safety regulations and practices

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake general maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and functionality of the client's premises
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance within your skillset to maintain building systems
  • Manage sub-contractors in accordance with company policies to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Raise any Health & Safety issues on the company's internal system (CID)
  • Report and address maintenance issues using Maximo software
  • Liaise with suppliers to minimize costs while maintaining good value
  • Assist other skilled trades in performing maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection, and installation work
  • Carry out minor repairs to the building fabric as instructed to ensure the safety and security of the premises, staff, and visitors
  • Respond safely and effectively to adverse weather conditions, including snow clearing, gritting, flooding, and high winds
  • Undertake training to maintain and develop the skills required for the role
  • Perform duties at other sites within the portfolio as needed
  • Ensure Health and Safety policies are followed across all sites
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients through effective communication and service delivery
  • Minimize penalty deductions by responding promptly to maintenance issues in line with the Concession/Project Agreement requirements
  • Keep all servicing records up-to-date and within statutory guidelines
