Summary
Who Are We Looking For
We have multiple opportunities for self employed Portable Appliance Testing Engineers with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Previous PAT experience isn’t essential, training can be provided. We do not have a fixed idea on your background or education and more importantly we truly value a positive team attitude with a strong desire to work efficiently and thoroughly. Roll Overview and Key Responsibilities
Responsible for conducting formal electrical safety tests on portable and fixed electrical appliances for a myriad of clients
Visually inspecting appliances for damage like frayed cables, cracked plugs, wrong fuse, or physical damage.
Testing the appliance for earth continuity, lead polarity and insulation resistance, amongst other things, and showing if it has passed or failed the PAT test using testing equipment
Completing safety inspections on several appliances & equipment at various sites
Performing microwave PAT and emissions tests
Recording test data
Travelling to and from jobs on planned work
What do you need
A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle.
Competent computer literacy skills to enable generation and submission of results and for managing diary and communicating
Strong verbal communication skills
Punctuality, flexibility and self-motivation
Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check (JR will pay for this)
Act with integrity and professionalism in all communications with clients and
colleagues
