Kelwel Care are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team in one of our brand new residential children’s home based in Colchester Essex.

Working as part of a professional team to promote and provide the highest standard of care for young people.
Communicating effectively with children and young people and understand and empathise with their needs
Empowering young people to grow into confident and resourceful young adults who understand and take responsibility for their own behaviours
Communicate effectively with multi agencies within the social care sector, ensuring the transparency of the company is delivered consistently throughout the company.
Offering advice, guidance and signpost to other organisations they can access.
A good understanding of current government legislation.
Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour.
Knowledge of the main issues effecting young people today.
Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Helping promote a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for the young people.
Providing practical and emotional support to young people.
Demonstrating empathy, compassion, resilience and positive parenting skills even under challenging conditions.
Work closely with young people, their families and professionals.
Organising and facilitating social activities and health appointments.
Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping etc.).
You MUST be organised, committed and passionate about the work you do.
Candidate Qualities & Requirements
All applicants must have a valid full manual UK/EU driving licence and be over the age of 21 (in accordance with The Children’s Homes England) Regulations 2015).
A-Level or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience of working or engaging young people
Level 3 Diploma (QCF/NVQ3) in Childcare and Young People (we will provide this if necessary)
