The Urology Department is located on Westmoreland Street (formerly The Heart Hospital) and the post will be based at this site.
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing MDT meetings, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals. Your contribution will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care and facilitating optimal treatment pathways.
A keen team player, you will be a key part of a large secretarial and administrative team within the Division. Working closely with and providing a high-quality service to your patients, Consultants and their clinical teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that key operational standards are met (National Cancer Waiting Time targets,) and that cancer treatment is accurately recorded within national deadlines.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of MDT meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and distributing relevant documentation.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of MDT decisions and patient treatment plans.
• Liaise with clinicians, nurses, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
• Maintain and update patient pathways via the PTL, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Monitor and follow up on actions from MDT meetings to ensure they are completed efficiently.
• and procedures to enhance team effectiveness.
This post involves working closely with staff in various departments and you will act as a point of contact for other organisations. You will need a flexible professional approach, excellent organisational and time management skills together with an excellent standard of verbal and written communication.
In addition, the post holder will be required to prepare and attend the weekly MDT meeting that is held on Friday mornings at 08:00 am.
