Full Job Description
To be involved and assist the nursery team in providing a friendly, caring, stimulating, creative and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop children in our care.
Ensure all daily routines are adhered to.
To plan, organize and carry out planned activities, organizing themes and projects.
To settle in new children and provide ongoing support, under a key person system, liaising with parents and maintaining good communications.
To maintain children’s records and carry out observation and assessments.
To ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times. This includes daily cleaning rotas, nappy changing, preparation of snacks, cleaning of equipment’s and other nursery/housekeeping duties
To keep abreast of current issues and attend training as necessary.
Contribute to and participate in team meetings/team activities, outside of working hours if necessary.
Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in the Nursery.
To respect confidentiality within the setting.
To communicate with parents and other visitors in a calm, friendly and efficient manner.
To take reasonable care of yourself and others and to comply with the Nursery’s Health and Safety rules.
To carry out any ad hoc projects or duties as requested by the Room Leader, Deputy Manager, or Manager.
To support the Room Leader in supervising and monitoring students in training if required.
The post holder may be required from time to time to work within any Bluebirds childcare settings.
To support and mentor colleagues who are studying for NVQ childcare qualifications.
You must have knowledge of the revised EYFS and have ideally worked to these policies within a nursery setting.
To take responsibility for continued professional development by attending courses (in-house and external), receiving constructive feedback, and reading relevant material.
To carry out any other reasonable additional duties as requested by your supervisor and/or Nursery Manager from time to time.
