Summary

About the Role

We are currently for a Water Hygiene Technician to join our Estates team here At Maria Mallaband Care Group. This is an exciting new opportunity covering our North region.

The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of an effective national water hygiene service to ensure MMCG meets its statutory responsibilities and provides safe working environments for the residents, employees and those affected by our undertaking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Annual TMV’s servicing to ensure they fail safe if the cold water supply is interrupted.
  • To remove, inspect, clean, descale, and disinfect and strainers or filters associated with the TMV’s
  • To work with MMCG colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  • Check monthly tap temperature checks undertaken by Maintenance Operatives
  • Visit allocated Care Homes annually.
  • To ensure correct paperwork is completed during site visits and all faults reported to the Property Manager/ your line manager within 24 hrs.
  • Ensure compliance with water regulations are adhered to, reporting all non-compliance.
  • Undertake any additional relevant works as required by the Property Manager/ Your line manager.
  • Undertake Water Logbook audit and advise Maintenance Operatives
  • To work with MMCG colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with Maintenance Operatives (MO’s) and the Care Home staff at all times.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Previous experience as a Water Hygiene Technician. Plumber or similar
  • Legionella awareness and appropriate qualification
  • Full driving licence (transport provided)
  • Qualification in risk management would be an advantage
  • Ability to work safely whether alone or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility for overnight stays and working hours
