TheClinical HaematologyTeam at Manchester Royal Infirmary (MFT) is looking for an experienced/motivated HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join their multi-professional team. The successful applicant will be leading in the development and delivery of the new Infected Blood Support Service (IBSS) and will work closely with national and regional partners in other IBSS. Additionally they will work with haemophilia patients who are eligible to access a new gene therapy (on a managed access agreement).

The successful applicant will offer expert psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation.

You will be supported to maintain and develop your skills and will be expected to provide clinical supervision e.g. to MDT colleagues and trainee psychologists. You will work collaboratively with the multiprofessional team to contribute to service developments/research/innovation to provide the highest quality of care in both areas.
• To provide high quality/highly specialised psychology service to those eligible in both areas (IBSS/Gene therapy).
• To be a highly specialist resource on psychological care to IBSS/Gene therapy and to coordinate/contribute to providing education/training/supervision activities to enhance psychological support and treatment across the service.
• To collaborate with national and regional partners in the development of the service.
• To use research skills for needs assessment, audit, evaluation, service development and other research activity to support continued development of the service. To propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team/service.
• To apply highly specialist expertise, gained post-qualification, in psychological treatment and research to clinical work and leadership in evaluation and research.
• To supervise junior staff as required.
• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of Trust policies and procedures.
