Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to join the Immunisation team in administering the RSV vaccination to pregnant women in the Essex maternity units for a 7 month period.

Opportunities will be available at the following locations and your preference will be discussed at interview.
• Basildon hospital
• Broomfield hospital
• Southend hospital
• St Michael's Birthing unit Braintree
• Colchester hospital
• Clacton hospital

We are currently awaiting guidance from JCVI to guide our preparations for the programme expected to start in September. There is the potential that guidance may not be received by the start date which may mean you will support other aspects of the immunisation service, as part of their flu delivery programme.



To offer and administer vaccinations to pregnant women in a variety of clinical settings. In addition to this you may need to support the wider immunisation service in times of need and whilst we await for further JCVI guidance.

Current guidance is for a 7 month fixed term contract, however there is potential for this to be extended.

The post holder will work as an immunisation nurse within the Community and School aged Immunisation Service, supporting delivery of the immunisation programme.



They will be responsible for delivering safe and effective immunisations in hospitals, homes, schools, clinics and other communityand clinic settings.



They may work with the Team Lead to improve vaccination uptake rates, providing health promotion to reduce inequalities and meet the needs of the community. They will support responses to outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases in the community as required.
