Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a salary of inclusive on offer, rising to in Year 2. This will be a 27-month fixed term contract. The Pharmacy department at The London Clinic comprises of number of areas which work together to provide effective patient services and best possible outcomes for our patients.The London Clinic's Pharmacy Department are a close-knit team with around 45 staff members. The Pharmacy department comprises of 9 core services: On Call, Dispensary Services, Distribution and Top Up Service, Procurement, Clinical Ward Pharmacy Services, Provision of Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), Aseptic/Technical Services, Clinical Governance and Education and Training. We have extensive oncology services, including a purpose-built chemotherapy aseptic compounding suite. As well as an automated medication dispensing system which supports decentralised medicine management in numerous wards. Job Profile Pre-registration pharmacy technician role is a two-year fulltime apprenticeship which enables learner to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The training equips the learner with the clinical knowledge, confidence, practical and professional skills to practise as pharmacy technician. It will enable the post holder to complete the necessary qualifications and learn the knowledge, skills, behaviors required to gain relevant work experience. Successful completion of the training programme will lead to a Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship certificate issued by the government. A training certificate will also be issued by the training provider, which meets the requirements of the Initial Education and Training Standards for Pharmacy Technicians and has been accredited by the GPhC. Job Type: This is a full-time, 27-month fixed term contract, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30 (including late/weekend/bank holiday shifts as rostered) Salary: Year 1 £27,143 inclusive on offer, rising to £27,839 in Year 2. Key Duties Participate in the provision of a safe, efficient and accurate dispensing service to all pharmacy users To carry out reception duties including taking in prescriptions and the entering of details onto the computer system (tracker system). To provide concise drug information to patients and staff and refer enquiries appropriately. To counsel patients regarding their medications following competency training. To ensure all relevant documentation is completed and filed according to procedures including unlicensed medicine dispensing records, prescriptions (outpatients and TTAs) and ward requests. Maintain an e-portfolio of evidence as set out by college assessor and/or in-house educational supervisor. Skills & Experience 4/5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade C/4 above including Maths, English and Science. Pharmacy Experience Experience of working independently and as part of a team. Computer Literate. Good verbal and written communication skills.
