Summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a school in Newport, NP18. . This role is vital in supporting students who require additional help in managing their behaviour and achieving their full potential within the school environment.

This is a permanent position and will start 2nd September 2024.

In this role as a Behaviour Mentor you will be supporting pupils aged 11-16 across all year groups.

Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday (term time only)

Salary: £419.25 - £475 weekly pay (dependant on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor:
- Work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviour to support their social and emotional development
- Develop and implement individualized behaviour support plans
- Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to address behavioural issues
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a consistent approach to behaviour management
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that encourages positive behaviour
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a conducive learning environment
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities
- Uphold and follow the policies of the school

Requirements of a Behaviour Mentor:
- Experience working with children who have behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
