Spanish Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join a dynamic team at a reputable secondary school in Weybridge. This is a maternity cover position, commencing mid/end of September 2024, for the duration of the maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be passionate about languages, committed to student development, and capable of teaching Spanish at Key Stages 3 and 4 and French at Key Stage 3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Spanish lessons for KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Teach French to KS3 students, ensuring a high standard of learning and achievement.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum improvements.
  • Participate in school activities, parents' evenings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Spanish, French, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Experience teaching French at KS3 level.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Previous experience in a maternity cover or temporary teaching position.
  • Ability to integrate technology into teaching practices.
  • Enthusiasm for extracurricular activities related to language learning.
