About the Role
Are you a versatile Multi-trade Operative with a solid foundation in carpentry? Join the Building and Refurbishment Group at UKAEA and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the appearance of our prestigious Culham Campus. You will be integral to our Civil and Refurbishment projects, contributing to the upkeep and improvement of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Carpentry and Joinery: Perform basic carpentry and joinery tasks, including the installation of new window boards and refurbishment of doors and woodwork.
* Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper storage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies.
* Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials to achieve the desired results.
* Work Area Management: Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
* Team Collaboration: Work with teams to coordinate refurbishment projects, minimizing disruptions to stakeholders.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to UKAEA and statutory safety guidelines and regulations while performing tasks.
Qualifications
* Trade Qualification: Relevant trade qualification (City & Guilds qualification not essential) along with additional skills in some of the following disciplines: carpentry, plastering, tiling, windows, and doors.
* Health and Safety: Excellent knowledge of the Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Experience
* Multi-trade Expertise: Extensive commercial experience as a multi-trade operative with basic carpentry skills.
* Project Experience: Experience in a range of construction refurbishment projects.
* Weekend Work: Availability for occasional weekend work.
