About this opportunity

Are you an experienced code developer with a track record of success looking for an exciting opportunity in the Finance/Insurance sector? Look no further! Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) is seeking an individual who enjoys developing complex models, reviewing code, and solving problems to join us in Bristol, UK.

You'll be working with and supporting other developers in the team to focus on delivering change for a set of financial models and processes. You'll get involved at all stages of the change cycle - from initial design thinking, through build and test to ultimate delivery. We're also building capability to enrich management information that will provide valuable business and commercial insight.

Day to day you'll be;

  • Creating and enhancing R-based applications and tools for financial modelling and analysis.
  • Performing thorough testing and debugging to ensure optimal performance of developed applications.
  • Conducting code reviews and provide critical feedback for developments completed by other members of the team.
  • Experimenting with new apps / tools to automate and improving existing processes.
  • Playing a part in the continuous improvement of our development practices.

What you'll need

  • Proficient with programming in R, especially with optimising code to improve model efficiency.
  • Use of object-oriented programming and an understanding of its principles.
  • Knowledgeable of Cloud Computing such as Google Cloud.
  • Experienced with Excel, RStudio and Microsoft Power Platform products.
  • Experience of using Git for version control.
  • Confident and proactive when communicating with others.
