If you’re an immediately available, experienced HR professional seeking a varied and rewarding role, we might have the opportunity you’re looking for!

This full time (35 hours) position is due to start early August and offers a fixed term contract until May 2025 (approx. 10 months) to cover maternity leave. This role is mainly working from home with the occasional need to attend the head office, and there is flexibility around start and finish times.



At Estuary, you will be joining an experienced, dedicated, and proactive People team who strive deliver a high quality and collaborative support service to all colleagues across the organisation.



We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who has worked at officer level or equivalent to join our People & Organisational Development team. Reporting to the HR Manage, you’ll be responsible for providing a variety of support functions to our Care & Support business, including the administration of:

All aspects of the employee lifecycle;
Recruitment, selection, onboarding and induction;
Learning and development;
Pay and benefits;
Employee relations and absence management;
Note taking for investigations, disciplinary, grievance and sickness meetings;
Budget monitoring and processing invoices.


You’ll also provide first-line advice and guidance to managers on contracts, policy, procedures and terms and condition. You will work closely with a dedicated HR care and support manager and have administration support; the wider People team is made up of 8 staff in total, whilst working closely with payroll, IT, and communications. This HR role supports approximately 15 managers who manage 100 staff across 15 care and support services based in Essex.



About you:

To succeed in this role, you’ll be CIPD Level 5 qualified or above, or have the equivalent demonstrable experience of employment law, recruitment, training and other HR disciplines.



You’ll need to demonstrate your excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to deal with high-volume administration whilst maintaining superb attention to detail.



You’ll be a self-starter who can juggle multiple demanding priorities with excellent digital literacy to learn new systems, including MS office and database skills.



You’ll also be confident in working with a range of stakeholders at all levels; always delivering brilliant customer care whilst upholding confidentiality, demonstrating your ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, empathy and discretion.
