Summary
Our client is looking for a planning officer to join them on a temporary contract lasting until the end of October 2024. in this role you will assist in the provision of the Development Management Service of the Council.
Key responsibilities:
- Examination and assessment of a range of applications submitted to the Local Planning Authority and related planning issues with reference to Development Plan Policies and any other material considerations
- Maintaining accurate and reliable records in relation to casework including computer and photographic records (where necessary
- Negotiations to achieve improvements to planning proposals.
- Drafting of recommendations and Committee reports on high volume planning proposals within target timescales

Attendance as required by the Development Management Manager at Committee meetings, Site Inspection Parties and other similar meetings involving Councillors.
You will need:

Hold or be working towards a degree in Town Planning and membership of the RTPI.
- A thorough knowledge of the Town and Country planning legislation
- Experience in a local planning authority.
