Summary


Audit and Guidelines Midwife– Band 7, 19 hours per week (Maternity Cover- Fixed term 1 year)
• An exciting opportunity has arisen for a midwife wishing to make a difference covering maternity leave for a year .
• As the key driver you will be managing the audit and guideline activity in the unit.
• The post holder will work within the maternity governance team and with midwifery, obstetrics and gynaecology leads to support good Governance in these areas.
• You will also play an important part in helping us to achieve key maternity transformation work streams including supporting clinicians to provide evidence for Saving Babies Lives as part of CNST.
• The post holder will act as the key driver supporting day to day safe and effective care through audit and guideline management.


The post holder will also support the quality improvement midwife with QI project design and facilitation, quality improvement support and teaching of methodologies.


• The post holder will cover the management of risk incidents in the absence of the Risk and Governance midwife or the management the quality improvement programme in the absence of the Quality Improvement Midwife.
• We are seeking a motivated individual with good interpersonal skills and project management skills who is comfortable with liaising with colleagues at all levels.
• You will be educated to degree level and have evidence of achievements in practice including team management and personal development.

• During any assigned clinical duties, the post holder will have continuous responsibility for the day-to-day management and organisation of maternity care, in both the hospital and community settings, within available resources


The post holder will be accountable for feeding back what the audit/guideline position of the maternity unit is in in regards to provision of quality, excellent care.


The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies, and service user representatives.

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Tooting, South London, is a large teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre with our maternity unit providing care to over 5000 women/ birthing people each year.
• Our midwifery led Birth Centre – Carmen Birth Centre, named after one of our passionate community midwives – delivers around 600 babies a year and has two continuity of care teams.
